This stylish mid century drinks trolley is made from silver plate and glass, with beautiful Neoclassical detail, pineapple finials and a removable tray.

Made in France in the 1950s.

Drinks trolleys were first used for cocktail parties at the end of Prohibition in 1933. By the 1950s, they were essential to home entertaining. At the cocktail bar of Mayfair’s Duke hotel - once a haunt of Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond saga - guests would be served from the hotel’s famed drinks trolley. It was at this hotel that Fleming is believed to have coined the phrase ‘shaken not stirred’.
