This fabulous glass vase was made by Daum in Nancy, France in the 1970s.

It looks very much like a piece of sculpture - no surprise given it's designer was César Baldaccini!

Titled 'Argos' and signed towards the base - please take a look at all our pictures to see this piece from every angle.

Stunning.

Baldaccini was born in 1921 in France to Italian working class parents and grew up in Marseilles. After studying at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, he began sculpting in metal and his first exhibition was in 1954 in the same city. He became part of the Nouveaux Réalistes (New Realists) - with Klein, Raysse, Tinguely and others who found their inspiration in urban life. César is noted as one of the leading sculptors of the midcentury era.

His sculptures can be found in Paris, Hong Kong and Marseilles and he even designed his own grave. Baldaccini died in 1998.
